About Tricia

Most people would think that a white cat looked just fine with its God-given color. But not this woman! No. Tricia Toole loves Purple, purple, purple! That poor cat had to be purple, and there was nothing it could do about it! But those things that make her so unique, are all the reasons she is so amazing and creative with her art. And it is her art that is all the latest craze in the Dallas area, and all across the US.   Meet The Artist

Tricia Toole, I Design founder and artist Trained at the Fine Arts Department of Texas Tech and at Geneseo State University in New York, she majored in Advertising and Commercial Art. She has studied both privately and in small class settings with some of the most well-known jewelry designers available over her lifetime. Having had an interest spanning back to art lessons when she was just four years old, Tricia has spent over 47 years mastering various art forms consisting of oil and acrylic paintings, her own clothing line, stained glass, lamp work, knitting and jewelry design. She is still studying under her mentor from High School, Elizabeth Knodle, who has inspired brilliance in so many famous artisans.

"Whenever you see a piece of my work, you will always see something different that you haven't noticed before. This has been my mantra for all the art I create. I like to keep my work fresh and interesting as well as versatile. I like my designs to be very unusual and out of the ordinary with a touch of frivolity," says Ms. Toole. When designing jewelry, in particular, Tricia feels that it should evoke a positive reaction from others. She states that "You should only wear jewelry and clothing that makes you feel beautiful".

Over the years everyone has accepted the fact the purple is Tricia's favorite color but not many have asked "why purple"? In first grade the teacher asked everyone to say their favorite color. No one selected purple, so Tricia decided that this color would set her apart. She could never be part of the crowd. Since then, she surrounded herself in every shade of purple. She says "when I love something, I never tire of it". Some would believe that there could be too much of a good thing, but Tricia believes that you can never have too much of something you love. That would probably explain why she has a purple marble fireplace, purple and lavender leather couches, a plum ceiling, walls, and carpet. Her custom designed studio features shades of plum, raspberry, and rose. Her husband even agreed to a hint of lavender for the outside stucco and interior walls (God help him). He even bought her a periwinkle purple car. Over the years, the "Law of Accrual" has come into play in her life in every aspect. She has purple dishes, silverware, towels, luggage, outside furniture and even a lavender garden hose!

Tricia Toole's rare jewelry design combines technical skill with a background of design, technique, knowledge of color in creating her works of art. Her extensive past with all forms of color, material composition, and her own creativity has led to her latest obsession. Her jewelry pieces are all colorful and bright and range from earrings to multiple strand necklaces to long single strand necklaces that can be doubled for a different effect or yet doubled again for a bracelet. Tricia truly tries to give value and versatility to her jewelry.

Just like the cat, and like the house, she could not accept that jewelry came in only one form. She loves to turn everyday to abstract and exciting by taking a standard strand of 24K gold or sterling silver, curling it, adding Swarovski crystals, pearls and semi-precious stones in an infinite array of styles and combinations. This results in a curly, bouncy art form of jewels and stones dancing while they conform to their true purpose of dynamic earrings and necklaces. Tricia has traveled the world to find exotic and unique stones and findings for her jewelry. No two pieces are the same, and each is made with the utmost precision and attention. Tricia never imagined the response to this art, but it took off as soon as folks started buying the jewelry right off her own neck! Her family and lifelong friends all participate in her business, which brings joy and fun to the whole experience of jewelry. To her with regard to her jewelry, life is not about every breath you take, it is about what leaves you breathless!

Along with jewelry, Tricia has recently formed an interest in knitting and knitting design. This stemmed from a simple request by her husband to spend more time with him and less time in her studio. Unable to just "sit" anywhere, she took up knitting to keep her hands busy. She has taught many others to find their passion in jewelry and knitting. One husband of a friend once called her and said, "What have you done to my wife? We used to spend quality time in the hot tub together, and now she brings her knitting with her!" All of Tricia's knitting projects are works of art. She is in the process of designing 6 coats (one in each size) for a very high end clothing store. Her knitted clothing designs have been selected by the publication "Belle Armoire" and are due to be published soon.

Along with the knitting and the jewelry design, Tricia is deeply passionate about anything that can be construed as art and that can be manipulated in her own way. She also works with glass and with paint. Everything she puts her personal spin on seems to be loved by all. Her eccentric designs and fabulous creations are breathtaking. She currently sells her work through various boutiques in Dallas and Plano, at trunk shows and by selling directly from her studio, and her jewelry is soon to be seen on the floors of Saks Fifth Avenue. In addition, she welcomes customs orders and encourages customers to call her to discuss any ideas they have to create their own one-of-a-kind treasure.
